Here’s how I turned one around In 2012-2013, I was working on a project for a startup—an interactive iPad application. Back then, iPads were a big deal. The project started strong. The team was delivering well in the first three months. But when we moved to production, things started falling apart. Testing issues. Integration challenges. Confusion over competition. I could see the team struggling—not because they weren’t capable, but because they hadn’t been exposed to the right processes yet. So, instead of just pointing out gaps, I rolled up my sleeves. I took charge of weekly demos & testing. I showed them what quality really meant. I focused on presentation, execution, and problem-solving. After 3-4 weeks, something clicked. They saw the difference, understood the expectations, and took ownership. From there, they delivered end-to-end—flawlessly. What started as a struggle turned into strength. My journey of becoming an Inventor from an Engineer fueled by 31 rejections It was in 2005, I had ideas, ambition, and the belief that I could make it happen. But reality hit me fast— I filed for a patent and got rejected. I tried again. Rejected. Not once, not twice, but 31 times. For 1.5 years, I kept filing new ideas. In that time, everything around me changed—  • My managers changed.  • My work area changed.  • Even the projects I worked on changed. But one thing stayed the same— Adobe’s culture of innovation. Not once did anyone say, "You’ve failed too many times." Instead, they said, "Keep going. Keep trying." And on the 32nd attempt, my patent was approved. At that moment, I wasn’t just an engineer anymore. I had become an inventor. That journey became one of the most important milestones of my life. It taught me: ✅ Patience beats talent.
