About us
As a national organization, there are more than 40,000 members who are employed by hospitals, integrated delivery systems, managed care organizations, medical practice groups, long-term and ambulatory care facilities, public accounting and consulting firms, insurance companies, government agencies and other organizations. The chapter is the fundamental level of the organization and provides the primary service opportunity for individual members. The Arizona chapter is one of 68 chapters nationwide and we are part of Region 10 which is one of eleven nationally. Our region also includes the chapters in Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming. Each region elects a Regional Executive who acts as a liaison to the National Board of Directors.

Our Arizona HFMA conference is underway! And what a great morning it has been! First up to bat was Dr. Richard Grey from Mayo Clinic where we learned about the Mayo AI Platform that is harnessing AI to revolutionize and Improve patient outcomes. Next up to bat was Catherine Alonzo from Javalina consulting who discussed the Skill that every 21st Century leader needs: the ability to prepare and respond to change. She provided us with the roadmap to encourage all of us to be the change in our communities and our lives. Next Samantha Brodt lead an engaging CFO Panel discussing the challenges that Rural hospitals face today in today’s healthcare landscape. Next up to bat Carmen Herrera, AHCCCS Director who discussed the challenges AHCCCS encounters daily and heard about their 2025 -2029 Strategic Plan focused on improving access and quality of care. Last we heard from our philanthropy partner and founder of Soul Survivor Ink Gina Jernukian regarding her mission of removing branding and tattoos from for human trafficking victims, along with one of her brave survivors.
