Earlier this year, the HSE introduced the 𝗔𝘀𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝘀: 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗗𝘂𝘁𝘆 campaign to clarify what it means to have a legal responsibility for managing asbestos ☠️ Though banned in 1999, asbestos may still exist in buildings constructed before 2000, especially those built between 1950 and 1980 when its use was most prevalent. The duty falls on businesses and property owners to check for asbestos in older structures and understand the requirements for safe containment. ⚠️ 𝗔𝘀𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗶𝗳 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗯𝗲𝗱, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘇𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗱, 𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗳𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗲 ⚠️ To aid compliance, the HSE provides updated resources, including an asbestos management plan template, videos, and detailed guidance on their website. These tools are designed to ensure that those managing buildings can maintain safety, comply with regulations, and prevent exposure. Reviewing and managing asbestos risks is critical to protecting the health and safety of everyone who enters these premises. #healthandsafety #safety #safetyfirst #construction #safetytraining #health #training #staysafe #workplacesafety #safetytips #ppe #firesafety #hse #constructionsafety #besafe #safetyculture #worksafe #workplace #safetyatwork #firstaid #safetyprofessionals
