Highlighting our Mission Driven Honoree, Martine Hackett, Ph.D., MPH Martine Hackett is an associate professor, the Director of the Master of Public Health Program, and the Department of Population Health chair at Hofstra University. Her research and community-based work are focused on maternal child health, suburban health equity, and the intersection of health and housing. She is also the co-founder of the Birth Justice Warriors, an organization committed to eliminating Black maternal and infant mortality in Nassau County.

Thank you Dr. Reinoso and team at HHLI Hempstead for collaborating with local and state organizations to receive contributions to educate the community about oral health and the benefits of reading. This week, they were visited by Dr. Joseph Brofsky - Head of the Pediatric Dentistry at Cohen Children’s Medical Center and representative of the Nassau County Dental Society and the NYS Dental Foundation. The health center was also highlighted to medical providers and staff members from around the country during a Leadership Conference for Reach Out and Read of Greater NY.
