Following the screening, join us for a panel discussion about the importance of protecting mangroves and wetlands. Told through the eyes of Grammy-nominated DJ and marine biologist, Jayda Guy, accompanied by a score from Wu-Tang Clan's RZA, and featuring musician Seu Jorge, Blue Carbon is an environmental feature documentary that brings together music and science to uncover one of our greatest weapons in the fight against climate change: blue carbon. “We used to think that these bug-infested swamps were honestly a waste of space. In the past 50 years, we have drained, paved, and polluted over a third of the world’s blue carbon habitats. But what we’re also destroying is the ability of these ecosystems to absorb carbon from the atmosphere. To avoid a climate disaster we need to remove at least 23 billion tonnes of CO2 every year by 2030.
