Approximately 300 medical, public health, and response personnel have deployed to North Carolina following Hurricane Helene. Responders from ASPR’s National Disaster Medical System have deployed with 386 tons of medical supplies and equipment to provide support at two hospitals and two emergency medical shelters. More responders are deployed to provide support in some of the hardest hit areas of the state. ASPR will continue to support North Carolina until the state determines federal public health and medical assistance is no longer needed. In response to #Helene, ASPR has deployed approximately 200 responders and 385,000 pounds of medical supplies and equipment that responders from the National Disaster Medical System can use to provide public health and medical support in communities impacted by the storm. APSR’s responders are providing medical care in North Carolina following the storm, and responders continue working with state and local officials to assess the storm’s impacts to hospitals, nursing homes, dialysis centers, and other health care facilities.
