We're proud to spotlight Miranda Weavil, one of the first students to earn her Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) from High Point University in December 2024! A Piedmont Triad native residing in Kernersville, NC, Miranda's impressive academic journey began with a biochemistry degree from UNC Greensboro, followed by her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from HPU. Miranda currently serves as a hematology transplant and cellular therapy Physician Assistant at Novant Health Cancer Institute in Winston-Salem, where she works with clinical research patients. Post-doctorate, she's pursuing leadership opportunities with NCAPA and APSHO while preparing to lecture at a local university. "High Point University has served as my academic home for two degrees," shares Miranda. "The DMSc program is staffed by dedicated professors and outstanding support personnel who make the journey fulfilling and cultivate a community with a growth mindset. My fellow doctoral students contributed a wealth of knowledge from their respective fields, enriching my coursework.
