About us

Highlands Behavioral Health System is an 86-bed freestanding behavioral health hospital offering psychiatric care for adults and adolescents ages 11 and older. The facility is easily accessible to families throughout the Denver metro area. Our clinical services are delivered by experienced mental health professionals. Once a patient is admitted, he or she receives a detailed evaluation as part of the admission process. An interdisciplinary team then creates an individualized treatment plan for the patient that includes acute care treatment, solution-focused treatment and thorough discharge planning.

  • This one was on the horizon for a while! Our neighbor, Cresthill Middle School, held their Thriving Together Event, and we thrived all right! What a wonderful evening of wellness workshops, resources and conversations around supporting our kids' mental health and well-being. It was fantastic to connect with parents and other community partners with the same mission. Thank you for letting us be a part of it!

  • What a pleasure to participate at The East Community Center's Community Resource Expo! East Community Center, an arm of Littleton Public Schools, does invaluable work to support families in providing community enrichment opportunities, and this fair was in keeping. We had the honor of providing resources alongside many other stellar community partners in the Littleton area, including live Taekwondo, trivia and scrumptious food. Thank you to the East Community Center team!

  • It was fantastic to have all hospital departments come together for our annual Skills Fair! From Nursing to Risk Management, Operations to Intake, all staff got to cycle through booths, refresh their knowledge on interdepartmental functions, have snacks and even get their flu shots. With the incredibly fast pace of our campus activities, it was a welcome, informative pause and reflection!

  • Oct. 10 is World Mental Health Day, a day designated by the WHO to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world. For us and many of our community partners, this is just part of daily life. Even though a single day won't raise enough awareness, we will seize every opportunity to emphasize how crucial mental health is to everyone. If you or a loved one is struggling, we're here for you! Call us at 720-348-2805 for a level of care assessment.

  • We were lucky enough to greet (and sign!) the Mobilize Recovery bus on their cross-country bus tour stop in Castle Rock! They certainly made good on their mission, and the nature of recovery, to "meet people where they're at." And, what better day than International Recovery Day. We were in awe of the speakers, poetry, live music and empowerment. Brandon Novak's appearance was an added bonus and his story was inspiring! Thanks to HardBeauty for all your work on bringing this bus stop to fruition.

  • We are breathing deep sighs of gratitude and reflection after our nationwide, inaugural An Afternoon of Hope event. Tuesday, in honor of World Suicide Prevention Day, we co-sponsored this tremendously powerful afternoon spotlighting personal stories, expert knowledge, and general awareness of how we as community members can be supportive of our struggling comrades. This was a hybrid event of in-person talks in Denver, NYC and Baltimore, and streamed nationally with over 600 people tuning in! Thank you to our co-sponsor CCA Inc. - Corporate Counseling Associates, Mr. David Otey with the vision, our sister hospital, Centennial Peaks Hospital, and The Village Workspace for hosting our event in Denver. It was moving, and a step forward in battling the stigma and bringing the conversation of suicide awareness to light.
