As part of our Bright Blue Futures program, we were proud to help fuel family fun with a week of free events in Western New York! Families had a blast at the play day at Explore & More Children’s Museum, going ice skating, exploring the Buffalo Museum of Science and more! We loved teaming up with our community partners to help families in the greater Buffalo area make fun winter memories.

Carissa, a 20-year-old day care worker and Highmark member, donated part of her liver to Ezra, her five-year-old student with end-stage liver disease. This organ donation was lifesaving for Ezra. In partnership with the Buffalo Bills, we were able to surprise Carissa with tickets and a trip to the big game in New Orleans on Feb. 9. We also arranged a playoff game experience for her, Ezra and his family in Buffalo back in January. Help us celebrate Ezra and Carissa by sharing their heartwarming story.
