We had the privilege of showcasing our innovative vision and talented leaders at the HIIC - Health Insurance Innovation Congress 2024 in Singapore.   Leading our delegation was Yusuke Nakamitsu, Chief Strategy and Distribution Officer at DLI Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd., who shared his insights on adapting insurance distribution to meet evolving digital consumer expectations on a panel discussion. He highlighted how digital platforms are reshaping interactions among agents, customers, and products, and the critical role of data in delivering personalized value to today’s digitally-savvy consumers. Atsushi Izu, Head of Global Dai-ichi Innovation Lab and Head of Innovation Planning Group at Dai-ichi Life Holdings, Inc., inspired audiences with his keynote on transforming health insurance through AI-driven innovation. Honoured to have participated in the HIIC - Health Insurance Innovation Congress last week. A sincere thank you to my co-panelists (Piet Maree Maxim Afanasyev, PhD Atsushi Izu Dr Ang Yee Gary, MBBS MPH (Non-medical qualification MBA)) for the discussion on the role artificial intelligence could play in health insurance and care financing. Health insurance has immense potential to expand healthcare access, and I was glad to share how insurtech startups developing solutions across the value chain can support this mission. For me, a productive conference often leaves me with more questions than answers. Here are a few that I’ll be reflecting on: 1. Are we staying focused on the core challenges, or moving too quickly to the “next big thing”? 2. Are we collecting too much health data, or is this necessary for achieving meaningful personalization? 3. Is there a clear path to seamlessly integrating next-generation health tech with insurtech solutions? I would love to hear your thoughts! I had the pleasure to moderate the CEO Roundtable at the 5th Health Insurance Innovation Congress APAC 2024 in Singapore on the topic of “Digital Health Ecosystem in APAC”.
