Earlier this month, Hikma Health was honored to participate in the third conference convened by the Gaza Health Initiative focused on rebuilding Gaza's health infrastructure. Over the past year, Hikma Health has participated in the Gaza Health Initiative to support conversations focused on restoring and advancing the digital health systems in Gaza. During the conference in Amsterdam, we heard from providers and clinicians on the ground about the challenges they are experiencing daily and the extent of the destruction of the healthcare infrastructure. And, we heard the need to focus rebuilding efforts on leveraging past advancements and centering Palestinian capacity and voices to define the process. Hikma Health continues to focus this year on supporting local NGOs and clinical organizations in Palestine actively providing services on the ground in Gaza, to implement our offline electronic health record system to support their teams on the ground. Doctors of the World works in the US and abroad focusing on 5 key issues: conflict and crisis; sexual and reproductive health; refugees and migrants; harm reduction; and environmental health. We are proud to partner with DOTW and support their Border Health Program, situated in El Paso, Texas, a border city across from Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, where they operate two clinics on-site in migrant shelters. According to the WHO more than 20 million people in Ethiopia, including 5.2 million people in Tigray, are in need of aid due to the conflict that started at the end of 2020. The WHO estimates only 3% of health facilities in Tigray are fully functioning, meaning most are unable to meet the health needs of the people. We are proud to partner with Catholicon-Aid, which operates in an IDP site in Tigray providing free sexual and reproductive health services (antenatal care, delivery, postnatal care, family planning, gender-based violence care, and STI treatment). #hikmahealth #digitalhealth #ethiopia #tigray #careinnovation
