February 2nd is #WorldWetlandsDay! 💚💧 Thanks to the Jan K. Platt Environmental Lands Acquisition and Protection Program (ELAPP), we manage over 63,400 acres of endangered, environmentally sensitive, and significant lands in Hillsborough County. One of the most important ecosystems we care for are our wetlands. Did you know wetlands are disappearing 3x faster than forests? 😳 Each time you visit one of our parks or natures preserves, you’re helping to support and spread awareness for our local wetlands. 🗺️ Take a walk on the boardwalk at Lettuce Lake Park or go birding at Cockroach Bay to see just some of the wetlands we protect in the area.
