Yesterday, students from Lutz K-8 and Sulphur Springs K-8 Community School had a busy day at JA Finance Park. The program aims to teach them #financialliteracy, #careerexploration, and #moneymanagement skills. Before visiting JA Finance Park, students receive 13 lessons in the classroom. During the visit, volunteers guided small groups of middle school students as they created a monthly budget for expenses like housing, utilities, transportation, and entertainment. The students assumed randomly assigned family and income scenarios and visited businesses to gather information for their financial decision-making. A special thank you to all the volunteers and to our community partner, @juniorachievementoftampabay, who empower young people with the knowledge and skills to budget, save, and invest, regardless of their background.

Check out the incredible celebration of theater in HCPS! It's Arts in Education Week, and we're thrilled to share that our high school theater students blew everyone away with their outstanding performance of Roald Dahl's Matilda in our first-ever All County Theater production. The cast, tech crew, and costumers from across Hillsborough County came together, many of them strangers at first, to collaborate and create something truly extraordinary. Despite having only 20 hours of rehearsal time instead of the usual 80, these student performers displayed incredible dedication and teamwork. Their unwavering enthusiasm and ability to work together embody the essence of educational theater. A huge shoutout to our amazing Theatre Director, Sean Ryan Paris, for taking on this project, and props to Laura Hobby, our Supervisor of Art and Theater for Hillsborough County Schools, for bringing this vision to life! With this stellar success, we can't wait to see what future All County Theatre productions have in store!
