"At Him For Her, we believe that diverse perspectives fuel innovation and drive sustainable growth. It's inspiring to see the data confirming the tangible impact of having women in independent director roles. The 16% capital increase for companies with female independent directors reinforces what we’ve long known: inclusive governance isn't just the right thing to do; it's smart business. As we continue advocating for more inclusive boardrooms, we’re excited to see boards recognize the long-term benefits of cognitive diversity. Together, let’s build a future where every board has the expertise, perspectives, and networks needed to thrive. Read more about our latest findings with Crunchbase and discover the value of inclusive governance. #BoardDiversity #HimForHer illumyn #buildingbetterboards #Leadership
The latest study from Crunchbase and Him For Her highlights important strides in gender diversity on private company boards, showing a rise in women holding independent director roles.Notably, when companies have only one independent director and that director is a woman, they raise an average of 16% more capital than when that independent director is a man. Adding independent directors provides private company boards with the opportunity to tap critical expertise, bring in new perspectives, and expand the reach of their networks. While companies have been slower to take advantage of this lever in the last two years, continued progress even in the midst of challenging capital markets suggests that boards recognize the long-term value of cognitive diversity. Let’s continue pushing for inclusive governance! Read more about the findings here: https://lnkd.in/gUQRfUw7 #BoardDiversity #WomenInLeadership #InclusiveGovernance #trustandperformance

🌍 Climate Change and Human Health: A Crisis That Demands Diverse Leadership The recent Axios House events in NYC highlighted an urgent truth: climate change is not just an environmental issue; it's a human health crisis. As this Axios article underscores, the stakes couldn't be higher. At Him For Her, we believe that to truly address the climate crisis, we need more diversity in decision-making—starting with our corporate boards. Last week, our CEO Jocelyn Mangan, participated in several conversations during #climateWeek, diving into how diverse leadership drives more innovative, sustainable solutions. Companies with diverse boards are better equipped to approach complex challenges like climate change with fresh perspectives and holistic strategies. As we move forward, it's clear: tackling the climate crisis requires diverse voices at the table, and we're committed to making that happen. Let's continue to push for leadership that reflects the world we’re trying to protect. 🌎 #BoardDiversity #ClimateAction #LeadershipMatters #Axioshouse illumyn #SustainableLeadership https://lnkd.in/gMvJx5_m

One year ago, we became one of the 4000 Clinton Global Initiative commitment makers and made our commitment at the annual meeting to solve board diversity. Returning today, I was reminded of why this is such a unique gathering - the speakers and audience exude optimism, hope, partnership, and solutions-based thinking, even in light of the world’s most challenging issues. The conversations center around what is possible, setting sights on the future, and as was said in the opening: “multiplication and addition do more than division and subtraction.” What an incredible end to the day to watch President Biden receive the Clinton Global Citizen Award. Thank you CGI for bringing to light so many talented people building a brighter future for us all. #ClintonGlobalIntiative #CGI2024 #climateweek #boarddiversity

We’re thrilled to return to the Clinton Global Initiative today! Jocelyn Mangan, Founder & CEO of Him For Her and illumyn, is reaffirming her commitment to solving board diversity. She will also lead a community roundtable discussion on how board diversity can serve as a catalyst for meaningful change. Global challenges like #climatechange, economic inclusion, and geopolitical instability cannot be addressed by governments or NGOs alone. Driving meaningful progress will require cross-sector partnerships and innovative solutions. The private sector – and the boards that guide its enterprises – is a critical lever and vital partner in social impact work. This means that the makeup of corporate boards matters as these partnerships take shape, but women and underrepresented executives are missing from many corporate boards. As of last year, women held a slim 17% of private company board seats, and there were still more men named Dave on corporate boards than women of color. Our roundtable will explore how corporate boards exponentially affect change in the world; identify key qualities of boards and how strong independents can make companies better; and how to add qualified, diverse talent to boards. #CGI2024 #boarddiversity
