We ran into issues… we must be a start-up. "Every year, 6.5 million dogs, cats, and other former pets are abandoned or lost and enter shelters. But of all these animals, only 3.2 million are adopted, and many see shelters again after less than a year of finding a new home." Quote from the article. https://lnkd.in/gT-h7rtV HMO Studios wanted to make a difference. Even if it was a little one. 100 or 1000 pets saved would be a small dent in our country's problem. But it would be a huge win if we could all unite and keep hammering the issue. The idea was simple. We were going to go to non-kill animal shelters. We were going to reach out to the people who help foster pets. We will take amazing pics, hoping someone might see them and get the appropriate information (including responsibilities for new pet owners, etc.). And find them their dream home. I've worked with several non-profit organizations over the years. One thing became clear. Animal shelters need more appropriate funding for staff facilities and oversight. They are frankly overwhelmed. Keep in mind that those calls and emails were not for sales. They were for charity. And boy, did I find out the complex and sad way. They need so much help. A manager once told me sadly that I would be better off volunteering by filling out forms. Ouch. It's okay. I have walked through the fire before. And that's a normal reaction. Only some people and organizations try to help out with this. It seems like a shot in the dark. Well, we have good cameras - that shoot in the dark. 😇 We took some fantastic pictures yesterday. Lizards, snakes, cats, pups, horses. Even an ass or two (that stands for cute donkey) The people I work with don't have LinkedIn. But a big shout is coming soon when we finish post and start the campaign. Adopt, do not shop. It is that easy. Save a life because yours might be in someone else's hands one day. And while I wish no one harm. We can all do more and better. PLZ Share and pay it forward #adoptdontshop #savealife #makeanewfriend
