January Lopez, M.D., Director of Breast Imaging at Hoag Breast Center, has been dedicated to the field of breast imaging since 2003. She has authored several radiology manuscripts and textbook chapters and contributes to the community as a Susan G. Komen Orange County board member. Her expertise stems from her involvement in the landmark American College of Radiology (ACRIN) Digital Mammography (DMIST) Trial. “Mammograms save lives,” she said. “Schedule your annual mammogram. After facing the loss of two partners to cancer and being diagnosed with endometrial cancer herself, Christine Lucas (pictured on the right) made a life-changing decision in 2021: she referred herself to Hoag.
