    The first quarter of 2024 saw further expansion of our leading hotel brands around the world. We celebrated the opening of 46 hotels and signing of 129 properties into our development pipeline.  Global RevPAR continued to grow, increasing 2.6% year-on-year. This was driven by an impressive performance in our EMEAA region, a further return of international inbound travel into Greater China’s major cities, and the complete return of leisure, business, and group travel.     Today, we have announced a long-term agreement with NOVUM Hospitality that will double IHG Hotels & Resorts presence in Germany to more than 200 hotels in almost 100 cities.     The agreement includes an exciting collaboration between our world-famous Holiday Inn brand and NOVUM Hospitality’s flagship brand, the niu, to deliver a modern, bold and dynamic experience to market. It also marks European debuts for IHG’s new midscale conversion brand, Garner, and our midscale extended stay brand, Candlewood Suites.     In total, up to 108 open hotels and 11 hotels under development will join IHG’s system and pipeline over the coming years, making IHG one of the country’s leading players in midscale and upper midscale. It gives us a strong domestic platform to capture more travel demand and accelerate our growth in what is one of Europe’s largest hotel markets. I’m in Berlin this week for the International Hospitality Investment Forum, where I’m sure this will be a great topic of conversation.     Our team is back from the International Hospitality Investment Forum 2024, where over 2,500 hospitality investment visionaries, leaders and experts came together in Berlin, to discuss the markets, opportunities and trends shaping the industry across Europe and beyond. IHG Hotels & Resorts shone bright throughout the three days, hosted at our very own InterContinental Berlin! From our eye-catching stand (spot our newest brand, Garner!) and lots of stage-time – including a fireside chat with our CEO Elie Maalouf and three leaders on topical panels – to a fun-filled drinks reception and an intimate partners dinner, there were plenty of conversations with peers and partners about opportunities for growth.
