We are beyond thrilled to share some heartwarming news that’s sure to bring a smile to your face! Our very own Gretchen Downing from Claremore, a beloved member of our community, received the ultimate birthday surprise—a visit from her favorite news anchor, Lori Fullbright from News on 6! If you know Gretchen, you know she is one of Lori’s biggest fans. She never misses a broadcast and tunes in daily to catch up on the latest news, always lighting up when Lori comes on screen. Gretchen’s admiration for Lori runs deep—so deep, in fact, that it inspired one of our dedicated staff members, Brittney Cruse, to write a heartfelt fan letter on her behalf. In Brittney’s letter, she shared a little about Gretchen’s unwavering love for the news, and she made sure to mention that Gretchen’s birthday is right around the corner in October. Little did we know, this fan letter would lead to an unforgettable moment. News on 6’s Lori Fullbright was so touched by the letter that she decided to make a very special trip to Claremore to personally say hello to Gretchen! The excitement was real! Gretchen had the surprise of a lifetime, and we couldn't be more thrilled for her. While the visit made her birthday extra special, it’s also a reminder of how acts of kindness and connection can make the world a brighter place. We are so proud of the bond our team fosters with those we serve, and stories like this remind us of the power of community.
