Fall Repair Fest 2024 was a good day for Indianapolis. With 130 volunteers, we took on projects across 10 homes in the Martindale Brightwood neighborhood. Ms. Hall’s old shed? Torn down. Ms. Williamson’s overgrown fence line? Cleared. Ms. Tucker got a new ramp to make her home more accessible, and Ms. Pinner, at 101 years old, saw her place get some much-needed cleanup and gutter work. This day was about building community and making a difference. A huge thanks to everyone who came out and got their hands dirty. You made a real impact for good in our city!

Big thanks to our amazing sponsors for making Fall Repair Fest possible! These organizations have contributed so we can purchase supplies to activate the event and serve about a dozen homeowners. We’re thrilled to share that we’re FULL on volunteers—over 100 people have signed up to lend a hand this Saturday. It’s going to be a beautiful fall morning of service and community. You can still get involved by donating to support the event, our work, and the homeowners we serve at homerepairsforgood.org/frf.

A huge thank you to North United Methodist Church for joining us for their first time last week. This team stepped up to scrape and paint a home after the homeowner was cited by the Health Department, showing what can be accomplished when we come together for good. Their time and generosity are helping create safe, welcoming spaces that homeowners can be proud of. We’re grateful for their partnership!

Thank you to our friends at Elements Financial for coming out and supporting Home Repairs for Good on your 8th Annual Purpose Day! The team tackled a major house painting project for a homeowner on the city’s east side, helping ensure she can continue living in the home she's loved for over 50 years. It’s always great to see familiar faces alongside new ones. We couldn’t be more grateful for your continued volunteering and financial support.

A massive shoutout to the team from Indianapolis Airport Authority for stepping up and making a real difference! On a beautiful Fall afternoon, they didn't hesitate to roll up their sleeves to help a homeowner who's been living in her house for over 30 years. After being cited by the Health Department for an unsafe structure and major overgrowth, she needed support — and they delivered. Even her neighbor jumped in to lend a hand, pointing out what could stay and what needed to go during the teardown. Thank you, friends, for helping remove a major source of stress for this homeowner!

Even if you can’t be at our Fall Repair Fest in person, you can still help older adults and those with disabilities stay safe and warm this winter. Your donation — whether it’s $10 for gloves and trash bags, $100 for critical plumbing repairs, or any amount you choose — goes directly toward making homes safer and more accessible. The event is around the corner, and while 100 volunteers are out in the field, your support is just as important from afar. Donate today to make our work possible: https://lnkd.in/d-_mtEjB
