🌟 Join the Hopelab team in exploring the world of parasocial relationships 🌟 In collaboration with Dr. Bradley J. Bond, we surveyed 1,715 young people ages 13-22 and learned powerful insights on the positive associations between online content creators and community connection for LGBTQ+ young people. ⚡ Parasocial relationships are generally strong among the young people sampled, suggesting that many LGBTQ+ young people form strong, meaningful bonds with social media content creators. ⚡ Content creators who are not major celebrities are more often listed as favorites among LGBTQ+ young people. ⚡ Parasocial relationships are especially important for transgender and nonbinary young people.
