Horizons Youth Services reposted this
In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, Job Corps can report that all our students are safe and housed. Many centers have lost power and phone service, but municipalities are working diligently to restore services as quickly as possible. In the meantime, we wanted to reassure all parents, guardians and loved ones that their students are safe and accounted for. Job Corps' first priority remains the health and safety of our students.

The Milwaukee Job Corps Center’s Y2Y (Youth-to-Youth) team has developed an anti-vaping campaign to encourage students to make healthier lifestyle choices. Posters will be placed around campus. Students are encouraged to work with the Wellness Center on campus to get more information on the benefits of stopping vaping and getting support for their efforts. #jobcorps #wellness #novaping #wegrowpeople National Job Corps Association (NJCA)

At the Milwaukee Job Corps Center, welding instructor Lekisha Kimbrough is proud of her work with the students. Her favorite part is to "watch them grow as welders." Alexander Nava, pictured welding student, is a prime example of Job Corps success and growth. Alexander is a few months away from graduating and is already brimming with confidence. Regardless of trade, all students at the Milwaukee Job Corps center get an opportunity to learn on the job via a work-based learning program before they transition into their full-time jobs. To learn more about WBL and how to recruit our students, please reach out to our WBL Coordinator, Evan Nemecek at 414-616-5713. #jobcorps #welding #wegrowpeople National Job Corps Association (NJCA)
