Happy World Occupational Therapy Day! The theme for this year is, “Occupational Therapy for All.” The theme reflects the important role of the profession in facilitating the ability of individuals, communities, and populations to participate in the activities that they want, need, or are expected to do in their daily lives. Occupational therapy is a vital part of hospice. This form of therapy is used to help those recovering from physical or mental illnesses. We work to encourage rehabilitation to help with certain activities that are necessary for daily life. OTs play a crucial role in the hospice care team. They help identify significant life roles and activities that provide some meaning to patients. They’ll talk to the patient to find out what they want to accomplish and what’s most important to them. They also consider the available support systems and resources they may have to achieve those goals. Thank you, Occupational Therapist, for all the hard work that you do each day!

During Spiritual Care Week, we celebrate the chaplains who serve not only as spiritual guides but also as counselors, listeners, and compassionate companions. Their roles extend far beyond religious care, as they wear many hats to provide support wherever it’s needed most. Meet Chris from our Athens Branch. He has been with us since 2021 and is a huge asset to our patients, team, and community. He goes above and beyond daily to support patients and families emotionally and spiritually while supporting our team. Chris shares, "I became a hospice chaplain so that I could meet people at their greatest point of need and share love and compassion with them. I find great joy in providing hope and reassurance to grieving families and friends while encouraging and working alongside the best nurses, CNAs, social workers, community liaisons, and administration on the face of the planet." #SpiritualCareWeek #MoreThanReligion #ManyHatsOfCare #OurCareFamily

During Spiritual Care Week, we celebrate the chaplains who serve not only as spiritual guides but also as counselors, listeners, and compassionate companions. Their roles extend far beyond religious care, as they wear many hats to provide support wherever it’s needed most. Meet Ronald from our Jasper office. He says, "I have no doubt that our Lord reached out in various ways beyond his spiritual ministry to take care of the ones he ministered to. Since Jesus was raised in a carpenter’s house, I am sure he knew the trade very well and probably helped Joseph build houses etc. I, as a Hospice Chaplain, try to see “the whole picture” of those whom I serve, and found out that little things like building steps, or ramps, or just helping families with some of the smaller needs can build relationships and create a bond that lasts a lifetime! My role as a Chaplain is based on the Matthew 25:40 precept, not limited to reading scripture or saying prayers, but rather serving the whole person!" #SpiritualCareWeek #MoreThanReligion #ManyHatsOfCare #OurCareFamily

This week we want to take the time to celebrate and educate you for Spiritual Care Week! Spiritual care can be a wide range of different cultures and religions. The theme this year is “Chaplains Beyond Religious Roles.” These colleagues wear so many different hats and our team would be incomplete without our Chaplains. Help us show them some love this week! #OurCareFamily #SpiritualCareWeek #ChaplainsBeyondReligiousRoles

Today we want to remind you to schedule your mammograms. Did you know that a mammogram can often detect a problem before there is any outward physical sign? All women over 40 years old are recommended to have a mammogram yearly for preventative measures. #EarlyDetectionSavesLives #PreventativeCare #WomenHealth #KnowYourRisk #ScheduleYourMammogram #BreastCancerAwareness #ScreeningSavesLives
