Kristi Simon and her team at the Howard County Chamber knocked it out of the park today at the Emerging Technology Conference at JHU APL. The session was filled with educational panels and started off with an introduction to Spot, an APL robot that can dichipher the sounds of voices, listen to commands, watch and react to hand gestures and more. While the other panelists were not walking around on all fours, they were equally educational and SECOM Security was honored to have our own Travis Griffin on the final panel discussing the case for predictive and preventative security measures as opposed to traditional reactive measures as well as use cases for AI and advanced analytics in the world of electronic building security. On the panel with Travis were David McDonald of the Baltimore Ravens, Anuja Sonalker, Ph.D of Steer Tech, Scott Smrkovski of Infiniti HR, and was moderated by Wayne L. Bethea, PhD of JHU APL. Great to see our friends from DP Solutions and KATZ, ABOSCH, WINDESHEIM, GERSHM there as well.
