Network Function Virtualization (NFV) has become the standard for deploying network services for a few years now. It has seen widespread adoption from enterprises, telecom operators, and managed service providers (MSPs). In basic terms, NFV takes network functions which existed as physical hardware earlier, and virtualizes them as software functions. Some components such as firewalls, encryption, and load balancers now exist on virtual machines (VMs). You can get a better idea of this concept here: https://lnkd.in/gjHWFQBK Post-standardization, the focus of this area has now shifted to supporting emerging tech such as AI/ML and 5G. Here are some of the forward-looking trends in this space: Containerization: Packaging NFVs in containers makes them more flexible, lightweight, and easily scalable. AI/ML: Intelligent algorithms that optimize network performance Edge Computing: Deploying VNFs at the edge of the network to support low-latency use cases 5G: To support 5G requirements such as low latency and high data rates #NetworkFunctionVirtualization #NFV #DigitalTransformation #Automation

Just as India was ahead of other nations in rolling out 5G services across the country, it is also planning to develop and release 6G before anyone else. This was confirmed recently by the Indian Commerce and Industry Minister. India is well on its way to delivering on this claim, as it ranks the top 6 in global patent filings for 6G technology. The Indian government has also initiated a strategy known as the Bharat 6G Vision for this purpose, with an ambitious timeline of 2030. 6G aims to further improve on factors like capacity, throughput, reliability, and privacy, with the goal of enabling AI/ML capabilities and increasing cloud infrastructure demands. To find out more, visit: https://lnkd.in/gzkzMf3w The future of 6G in India is promising, as the leadership is focusing on innovation, IP protection, and international collaboration. #6GTechnology #Bharat6GVision #AIand6G #DigitalTransformation
