Inspired by the Heroes Among Us event, we’re proud to shine a spotlight on our dedicated team members through the #HSVSHeroes series. First up, meet Althea Smith, Assistant Director of Residential Services. Althea has been with HSVS for almost 18 years and just completed her Masters Degree. Thank you, Althea, for your unwavering commitment and incredible work!

At HSVS, our staff are the true heroes among us. We recently celebrated their hard work and dedication at our "Heroes Among Us" event. Their commitment to making a difference in the lives of those we serve is inspiring, and we couldn't be more grateful. Thank you to all of our incredible team members for your tireless efforts!

We're excited to have partnered with several incredible organizations to provide resources supporting the transition from summer vacation to the classroom: PFLAG NYC, Sanctuary for Families and DESTINATION TOMORROW. Admin Days were a huge success! Over 90 employees recently participated in Admin Days, visiting 29 of our programs across HeartShare to engage in activities like visiting the aquarium, roller skating, and arts & crafts. This initiative was designed to help admin staff better understand the daily work of our frontline staff and support our clients. The Staff Development and Culture Department learned a lot throughout this process and we can’t wait to offer more opportunities like these to develop relationships across our programs.
