Halogen-free cables are environmentally beneficial because they do not release harmful halogen gases (like chlorine, fluorine, or bromine) when burned. In contrast, cables containing halogens can emit toxic, corrosive fumes and contribute to acid rain and ozone depletion when incinerated or exposed to fire. Halogen-free cables reduce the release of harmful pollutants during fires, improving air quality and minimizing damage to both human health and the environment. Additionally, they produce less smoke, making them safer in case of fire and easier to dispose of in an eco-friendly manner, contributing to overall sustainability. Our Enviro-Wire halogen free wire and cable lines at Hueson Wire & Cable are on the cutting edge of this increasingly popular technology. Reach out to us today at sales@huesonwire.com to discover these and additional benefits when using halogen free products. www.huesonwire.com #madeintheusa #cableandwire

A little Wire & Cable 101 from Hueson Wire & Cable. Today's lesson: The Benefits of Braided Cables Cable braiding works by weaving strands of conductive or protective materials around the cable core. This braided layer enhances mechanical strength, and provides abrasion resistance. It maintains flexibility while protecting internal wires, ensuring durability, performance, and signal integrity in various environments. Cable braiding offers key benefits, including enhanced EMI shielding, which protects against electromagnetic interference, ensuring signal integrity and reducing emissions. It increases durability by providing resistance to physical damage, abrasion, and wear, while maintaining flexibility and bendability. Braided cables are also heat and chemical-resistant, making them suitable for harsh environments. In consumer products, they add aesthetic appeal and prevent tangling. Braiding can improve conductivity in some applications and provides vibration dampening in high-stress settings. Overall, braiding increases the longevity, performance, and reliability of cables in both industrial and consumer use. At Hueson Wire & Cable, we are the engineering experts. If you have a NPI or full production project, let our team evaluate it for optimal fabrication/performance. Contact us at sales@huesonwire.com.

TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) cables offer several advantages due to their flexible and durable nature. Their high abrasion resistance ensures they endure wear and tear in challenging environments, making them ideal for robotics and industrial applications. TPU cables remain flexible even in extreme temperatures, enhancing their reliability and performance in diverse conditions. They also provide excellent resistance to chemicals and oils, contributing to their longevity. Additionally, TPU’s inherent elasticity allows the cables to return to their original shape after deformation, reducing the likelihood of damage from mechanical stress. At Hueson Wire & cable, we offer 24 UL-AWM TPU styles that fall in our list of approvals. To learn more, please visit us at: https://lnkd.in/eXpz4Ss3 You can contact us at sales@huesonwire.com for more information or to share your upcoming project that may benefit from TPU wire and cable.

A little Wire & Cable 101 from Hueson Wire & Cable. Today's lesson: The Benefits of Tinned Copper Wire. Corrosion Resistance: Tin acts as a protective layer to prevent the copper wires from oxidizing or corroding. Corrosion can degrade the performance of electrical connections, so tinning helps maintain reliable conductivity over time. Improved Solderability: Tinned wires are easier to solder, which makes it simpler to create secure and stable connections. The tin coating helps the solder flow evenly and bond well to the wire. Enhanced Conductivity: Although tin is not as conductive as copper, a thin tin coating doesn’t significantly impact the overall conductivity of the wire. It ensures that the wire remains functional and reliable. Mechanical Protection: The tin coating provides some degree of mechanical protection, making the wires more resistant to abrasion and physical damage. Hueson Wire & Cable has the ability to process this wire type and can assist with your early stage project needs. To see if your project can benefit from tinned copper wire, please contact us at sales@huesonwire.com to schedule a free engineering review.

In the stranding process, individual wires (or strands) are fed into the strander, where they are twisted together into a helical configuration. This is essential for creating cables with the necessary flexibility, strength, and electrical performance. Hueson Wire & Cable's Planetary Strander can take 30" reels for 12 of the 20 cradles, allowing for longer cable lengths of larger AWG product than most domestic fabricators are able to offer. Reach out to us today at sales@huesonwire.com to share your cable project requirements.
