Our Emergency Department team works up a big hunger providing around-the-clock care at North Alabama’s only Level I trauma center. For National Emergency Nurses Day on Wednesday, the HH Emergency Physicians Group treated our lifesavers to lunch from Rosie’s Mexican Cantina. 🌮🌯😋 Know an ER nurse at Huntsville Hospital? 👩⚕️🩺 Give them a shout out in the comments.📣

If you’ve driven past our campus this week and wondered what’s happening on the lawn, it’s a new public art installation. Designed by local artist Glenn Dasher and generously donated to the hospital by the family of SCI Technology founder Olin B. King, “Moon Gate” is a tribute to Huntsville’s unlikely transformation from sleepy cotton town to world-renowned space, technology and research hub. 🚀🌕 The limestone and stainless steel sculpture will soar more than 2️⃣0️⃣ feet tall near the corner of Governors Drive and Madison Street and become a new stop on the Downtown Huntsville Public Art Trail. Read more about the inspiration behind “Moon Gate” here ▶️ https://bit.ly/4gPdhXU

🏖️ Did you spend lots of time outside this summer? If so, now is a good time to check your face, ears, neck, chest and back for any red bumps, scaly patches or persistent sores that could be a sign of squamous cell carcinoma – type of skin cancer caused by repeated exposure to ultraviolet radiation from the sun.☀️ Learn more about squamous cell carcinoma signs and treatment options from Dr. Samih Nassif Abudinen, a board-certified otolaryngologist on our medical staff ➡️ https://bit.ly/3TPsAWz
