I enjoyed visiting Husson’s School of Legal Studies Career Day earlier today. It is a valuable opportunity for students in the forensic science, criminal justice, conservation law and pre-law programs to explore career paths and network with professionals from law enforcement agencies and law offices. I’m so glad that our students have this chance to connect with leaders in the industry and take steps toward their future careers at this event.

Yesterday, President Lynne Coy-Ogan kicked off the first Distinguished Business Speakers Series event in The Gracie Theatre speaking about her career journey from teaching to K-8 administration to higher education and the important role that mentors played along the way. “Students have always been the key theme of my career and using the opportunities that I've been given to enhance students' abilities to transform their own lives, is my mission,” said President Coy-Ogan. Emily Erskine, a graduate student in Husson's MBA in Healthcare Administration & Public Health program, interned at Martin’s Point Health Care in Portland, ME this summer. During the internship, she gained hands-on experience in the provider data side of healthcare by using tools like Salesforce and Q-NEX to ensure data accuracy and by conducting provider outreach. This internship allowed her to apply the diverse skillset she’s developed throughout the program with courses like Public Health, Global Health, Healthcare Law & Ethics, Data Design and Strategic Change Management. Additionally, Emily had the opportunity to network with other interns from across the state this summer.
