What a journey it has been as we've molded Healthworx Accelerator into a transformative 'graduate program' for ambitious and innovative early-stage healthcare companies. Over the past year, as the Healthworx mission ambitiously grew, our model expanded to reshape our program, and simultaneously develop tangential avenues for impact in the form of Healthworx Ventures and Healthworx Studio. The future of healthcare will deliver effective, affordable, high-quality, equitable, accessible solutions. It's not only the right option -- but the only option.

All illnesses deserve the same quality care and treatment. That must include mental health. Today is #WorldMentalHealthDay, and we proudly highlight the importance of this year's theme: "It is Time to Prioritize Mental Health in the Workforce." Agreed. As a company committed to creating healthier futures and better healthcare experiences for all individuals, we recognize that work involves rallying behind voices of positive change and mental health advocacy. The sentiment "move fast and break things" that is often applied to startups doesn't work when it comes to healthcare - and that's a large part of the reason Healthworx offers the resources and support burgeoning health companies need to survive and thrive. October is #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth! This month, we rally in support and recognition of more than 4 million breast cancer survivors living in the United States. Women's health has finally made some long-overdue strides into the limelight -- and throughout the month, we'll be shining a spotlight on a few of our partners who have contributed to the momentum. According to the American Cancer Society, early detection and increased awareness have resulted in a steady decline in breast cancer death rates. Every piece, no matter how small, plays a significant part in improving women's health outcomes -- whether that's vulnerability in conversation, technology innovation, self-examination education, or proactive and preventative efforts such as diet and exercise.

In collaboration with Healthworx and CareFirst team members Laura Gomez Cadena and Sheila Yahyazadeh, MPA, PMP, we're proud to honor Hispanic Heritage month and call attention to the need for inclusivity and accessibility in our healthcare system for all populations. We've seen remarkable progress in recent years, but still have a long way to go in overcoming barriers to care for the Latine community. As part of our work, we'll continue to draw awareness to underserved populations, and advocate for care solutions that promote better affordability, accessibility, quality, and equity across the board.
