The ABC/NHVT Chapter continues to expand upon it's footprint and work with various stakeholders throughout Vermont as shown here with Matt Musgrove and Doug Cullen, new members of the ABC/NHVT Chapter working collaboratively to grow the chapter's impact in Vermont, attending the Vermont CTE Summer Conference held at Jay Peak Resort. The 2-day experience was packed with breakout sessions and well-organized to enable ABC/NHVT ample conversations with various education attendees ranging from CTE Faculty, School Counselors and School Administrators. There was consistent interest in expanding upon Apprenticeship programming that doesn't compromise, but compliments, thorough post-secondary transition planning for CTE and comprehensive high school students with many attendees interested in doing a deep dive in Apprenticeship program development or their school or CTE Center.

🚧🔧 Protect Your Back on the Construction Site! 🔧🚧 Back injuries are all too common in construction, but with the right precautions, you can stay safe and strong. Here are some essential tips to help prevent back injuries: Know the Weight 🏋️♂️: Always check how heavy the item is before lifting. Center of Gravity ⚖️: Understand where the center of gravity is to maintain balance. Clear Path 🚶♂️: Ensure your path is free of obstacles from pickup to drop-off. Take Breaks 🛑: Don’t hesitate to rest if needed. If you do, place the item on an elevated surface. Ask for Help 🤝: If the load is too heavy, get a helping hand. Proper Technique 📏: Use your legs, not your back, to lift. Stay safe out there and take care of your back! 💪 #ConstructionSafety #BackHealth #ProperLifting #StaySafe

Wellness Wednesday via Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention 🌿 Talking about mental health and suicide can feel awkward due to stigma, making it harder for those in need to ask for help. We can change this by adopting proper language and increasing our mental health literacy. Think of mental illness like any physical illness. Instead of saying someone “is depressed,” say they “are experiencing depression.” This helps separate the person from the disorder. For suicide, avoid phrases like “committed suicide” which imply crime. Instead, say “died by suicide” to show respect and understanding. Avoid using words like crazy or psycho, as they increase stigma and make it harder for those in need to speak up. Let's change our language and support each other. 💚 #MentalHealthMatters #EndTheStigma #WellnessWednesday
