Nightly mill and overlay operations will continue this week along the westbound I-2 main lanes in Pharr & McAllen, and northbound I-69C in Pharr. Expect various full closures and lane reductions if traveling through the area. Tonight’s closures start at 8PM. Closure Details 👉

TOMORROW MORNING (Sat. 9/7) the new, and wider, westbound I-2 main lanes between Fir St in Pharr, & Jackson Ave in McAllen, will OPEN! New westbound on and off ramps will also be opening in Pharr, between Veterans Boulevard and Jackson Road. Happy Friday, y’all! Details https://buff.ly/3MB79Va

A new, permanent eastbound I-2 exit ramp is scheduled to open in Pharr this week. The ramp will be located just east of Cage Boulevard and will provide direct access to Veterans Boulevard. Project crews are scheduled to open the ramp by Thursday morning, September 5th.

Paving operations have been running day & night, and roadway striping has begun for the opening of the new, and wider, I-2 westbound main lanes. Announcement coming soon!

Temporary nightly lane reductions will be taking place this week throughout the project corridor for the removal of concrete barriers, and milling operations. Motorists should expect delays when traveling in either direction on the I-2 main lanes, through McAllen, Pharr, and San Juan, and on the I-69C main lanes, in Pharr. As our 2024 summer internship program comes to an end, DPJV would like to extend our gratitude to the amazing group of aspiring engineers who joined our team for the semester. We appreciate the hard work, commitment, and passion they brought to the team, and their shared enthusiasm for the construction industry. 👏 Throughout their time working with on the I-2 / I-69C Interchange Project, they were able to gain hands-on experience, participate in field visits, and work closely with project management. We are excited to see what the future hold for Leonardo Lerma (Senior at Texas A&M), Celeste Maldonado (Senior at UTRGV), and Gustavo Puente (Junior at UTRGV). Lastly, a big thank you to their DPJV mentors for guiding them along the way. 💪
