About us
The I2SL New England Chapter, which formed in December 2013, will serve Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island and Connecticut to further I2SL goals and promote the environmentally responsible design, construction, and operation of resource-conscious facilities dedicated to scientific education, healthcare, and research. Our primary objective is to enable the best possible sustainable design and operational practices through the active participation and ever-growing support of industry professionals within the northeast. I2SL New England will draw upon the enormity and diversity of professional, corporate, and institutional expertise within our region. Over the past year, members of I2SL New England’s Board of Directors and various committee members have begun to reach out to our local community to spread the news of this exciting development. Our hope is to build upon the success of Labs21 in support of the explicit needs of our region to offer educational content, career development, networking opportunities, and community outreach programs, while at the same time fostering professional interactions and interprofessional collaborations to promote the responsible and sustainable design of laboratory and other high-tech facilities. I2SL New England will accomplish this vision through a series of regularly-scheduled conferences and colloquia that will include presentations by building and design industry experts, coupled with interactive discussions as well as occasional, less formal social gatherings.
