Davanti Ristorante debuts its new high-tech pizza oven. Chef Roberto Crescini churns out Houston’s most authentic pizzas with heirloom flour and high-tech oven. The quest to create Houston’s most authentic pizza began with Chef Roberto Crescini’s search for the perfect pizza oven. After painstaking months of research, he chose a cutting-edge electric oven from Italy that mirrors the qualities of a traditional wood-fired oven while allowing for superior temperature control. But the real magic starts with the flour. Chef Roberto traveled back to his hometown of Brescia, Italy to visit a small stone-driven flour mill where the miller uses ancient “slow” methods to create some of the most flavorful flour Roberto had ever tasted. This artisanal flour gives the pizza its authentic taste and texture, unlike anything typically found in Houston. Chef Roberto’s pizza-making expertise was further honed through guidance from Maestro Rosario Cuzzolino, an Italian pizzaiolo recognized globally for his craft. His insights, paired with the finest ingredients and technology, allow us to present a true expression of Italy in every bite. Chef Roberto and his team are thrilled to introduce this carefully curated experience to Houston and invite you to taste the passion and craftsmanship that have gone into their new pizzas at Davanti Ristorante.

What a wonderful turnout for our “Every Day in Lombardy” seminar by Italian food and wine historian Jeremy Parzen at Eataly in Dallas, presented by the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce Texas and its Taste of Italy Trade fair on October 8, 2024! Although most know Jeremy Parzen a food and wine educator, he also holds a doctorate in Italian and has written widely on Italian history and culture. For years now, his interest in Lombardy wines has also led him to visit and experience the region’s cultural capitals. The Italy-America Chamber of Commerce Texas would like to share its warm thanks with all the food and beverage professionals, trade members, food and wine lovers, and exhibitors who came together to make our Taste of Italy Fall 2024 tour such a great success! More than 140 people attended the Dallas event and more than 70 attended in El Paso. Our speakers and presenters led four different seminars, each sold out, with roughly 100 people in attendance between both cities. The events showcased over 60 producers, presenting more than 450 authentic Italian products. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the exhibitors who participated. A special word of gratitude goes to the Consorzio Vini d’Abruzzo, the Consorzio del Vermouth di Torino, the Consorzio del Pecorino Toscano DOP, and last but not least, the Camera di Commercio dell’Umbria for their exceptional support and presence at our events.
