Pittsburgh Scholar House is thrilled to announce the official launch of our housing program at Naomi’s Place, where we’ve recently welcomed our inaugural cohort of residents! Four single-parent families, previously housing insecure, are now safely and affordably housed as they pursue college degrees while raising healthy, happy children. In addition to a host of other supports, PSH is establishing an on-site resource center to provide essential goods like diapers, cleaning supplies, and hygiene products for our highly motivated community. If you'd like to support these families and help stock our resource center, please consider purchasing from our Amazon Residential Program Wish List: https://a.co/azRhPtJ. For those interested in donating larger items like furniture, toys, or laptops, please email Danielle Morgan, Wayfinders Coordinator, at dmorgan@pghscholarhouse.org.

Pittsburgh Scholar House has secured $2.5 million in grants from the Henry L. Hillman Family Foundations and Richard King Mellon Foundation to develop 94 affordable housing units at 120 Cecil Way in Downtown Pittsburgh. In partnership with Beacon Communities, this project will convert a historic steam plant into housing, with 47 units dedicated to PSH Scholars and their families. This development is a significant step toward providing stable housing for single parents pursuing post-secondary education, while also revitalizing the city. “We are incredibly grateful for this generous support,” said Dr. Diamonte Walker, CEO of PSH.
