Today marks one year since the tragic October 7 massacre. As we reflect on this sad anniversary, our hearts go out to the families that have lost their loved ones, to the hostages, their families, and the many families in northern and southern Israel who have become refugees in their own country. Despite these challenging circumstances, we remain steadfast in our belief in the remarkable innovation and resilience of the Israeli high-tech industry. Earlier this week, we had an incredible panel featuring expert insights that are invaluable for every early-stage entrepreneur. Here are a few takeaways: ⭐ First-paying customers can result from organic LinkedIn posts, highlighting the power of authentic engagement. ⭐ It's crucial to filter feedback when validating your idea with potential customers. For example, don't seek validation from the Israeli postal office if your target is FedEx. ⭐ When validating cybersecurity companies, it's important to distinguish between those creating a new category and those improving existing products through better execution. For the latter, validation may be less critical. ⭐ By multiplying the price comparable products sell for with potential customers in your target market, you can determine your bottom-up market size. ⭐ The founding team is the most critical element of a startup, emphasizing that every employee should possess an entrepreneurial spirit. Also, don't use a hiring firm for the first 15 employees. ⭐ All the panelists agreed that execution is the most vital factor for startup success.
