Hurricane Helene has caused devastation across the southeast U.S., with nearly 300 municipalities and obligated entities exposed to flooding, linked to over 15,000 municipal debt securities. These maps show the geospatial footprints of the munis exposed to extreme flooding in the southeast since September 24. This month, ICE will release our new hazard event monitoring tool which allows existing muni clients to do near real-time analysis of their exposure to hurricanes, wildfires, and floods.

As the volume of small fixed-income trades continues to grow, the demand for accurate pricing has become increasingly crucial. In a market traditionally dominated by larger trades, having precise pricing for smaller transactions enables participants to efficiently and quickly manage significant blocks of risk across markets. In celebration of #InternationalCoffeeDay, we searched through the NYSE archives and discovered a treasure: a book of minutes from the Coffee Exchange, dated 1897-1906. This artifact highlights New York City's pivotal role in the global coffee trade throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. Today, the legacy continues under ICE, as home to the coffee, cocoa, canola, sugar and frozen concentrated orange juice futures and options markets where the global benchmark prices for these commodities are formed every day.
