The new LIXIL Water Experience NYC is located between New York’s ever-burgeoning Flatiron District and NoMad neighborhoods. The newly imagined 10-thousand square-foot showroom unfolds as a series of interactive activations allowing both consumers and specifiers to test out the diverse gamut on offer; items also from American Standard Brands, DXV Water Technologies, INAX, and Basco Luxury Shower Enclosures. Such a strategy is a clear rebuke of the trend that is seeing many brick and mortar retail spaces close in favor of online sales. Such a dynamic programmatic approach is proving the importance of physical engagement; handling and witnessing these essential components before they become so integral to our homes and other everyday environments. If Europe, and Italy in particular, represents the historical and artisanal heritage of design, always torn between tradition and innovation, America is characterized by its vocation for experimentation without constraints. These respective identities have laid the foundations for an increasingly widespread and obvious trend: American furniture brands, in search of new aesthetics and a more sophisticated language, are engaging European creatives to infuse their designs with an educated sensibility, deep-rooted know-how and a clearly recognizable style. Designer Profile-Marco Petrini "My goal is to capture the feeling I experience in a space and translate it into my photos. If I’m shooting a project on a sunny day in California, I want that warmth and light to shine through my photos. On a moody, overcast day in New York, I aim to convey that atmosphere so the viewer can almost feel it too. I let the unique conditions of each place, its time, weather, and atmosphere, guide my approach. This way, every project feels true to its moment and place."-Marco Petrini https://lnkd.in/eRR7rfRX
