Today ICON announced its latest project in partnership with renowned firm Michael Hsu Office of Architecture and developer Catellus Development Corporation to build a dozen two-story residential homes breaking ground in 2025 in the desirable Mueller community in Austin, TX. Additionally, a selection of the one-bedroom homes will also be coming soon within the Mueller Affordable Homes Program. The high-performance, beautiful and resilient homes range from 650 to 2,400 square feet across one to three bedrooms with pricing beginning in the mid-$300s to 1M+. 100 more homes are underway at Mobile Loaves & Fishes Community First! Village in Austin, TX for the chronically homeless thanks to Lennar Foundation. This extends the work that ICON has completed over the past four years at Community First! Village to serve the underhoused community including 17 homes and facilities. The ICON homes are built in partnership with Lennar Foundation, the charitable arm of Lennar, one of the nation’s leading homebuilders, and are part of the expansion of the Village, which is currently underway. Once all phases at Mobile Loaves & Fishes' Community First! Village are completed and at full capacity, it will be home to an estimated 1,800 formerly homeless individuals. The first 3D-printed structure to receive approval from a Historical Commission recently opened its doors at Camp Mabry in Austin, TX. The Texas Military Department Training and Innovation Center is a 2,600+ sq. ft. building 3D printed by ICON and is part of TMD’s Joint Force Headquarters. Located in the Camp Mabry Historic District, the Innovation Center replaces temporary buildings that have far exceeded their 10-year lifespan, significantly increasing the energy efficiency of the space while providing a more modern and useful facility. The center was completed in 2024 with traditional construction finish outs supported by troop labor from TMD Soldiers and Airmen. This integration provided unique training opportunities for servicemembers and allowed them to utilize state of the art construction methods. Notably, this building is the first 3D-printed structure to receive approval from a historical commission, a testament to its unique integration of cutting-edge technology. At ICON, we take pride in the strong partnerships we have forged with nonprofit organizations, such as Mobile Loaves & Fishes, the Austin nonprofit that has been faithfully serving the area’s homeless community for more than 25 years. Recently, we had the privilege of volunteering our time and efforts at Community First! Village, the master planned development serving the Austin-area’s homeless community, to enhance and beautify the property where we initially 3D printed homes for the "neighbors" of the village. This experience not only allowed us to give back, but also reinforced our commitment to supporting and uplifting the communities we serve.
