Microsoft announces that Ireland has been selected as a key location for the company to invest in advancing its global #AI innovation. The decision will result in Microsoft Ireland adding 550 new Irish based engineering and R&D roles to pioneer the development of new AI technologies. The investment will see Microsoft, a global leader in the development and use of AI, undertake significant industrial research into AI to develop critical, leading-edge technology in the area of AI and #cybersecurity, which will then be made available to public and private sector organisations all around the world. Novartis Ireland today marked its Collaboration Agreement with Deciphex, a Dublin-based digital pathology company, at a specially convened roundtable on Artificial Intelligence (AI). We were delighted to host the 'Sustainability Solutions Sourcing' event last week at IDA Ireland's South East Regional Office in #Waterford city, in collaboration with Enterprise Ireland. The event brought together IDA Ireland's clients from the South-East region, who are significant energy consumers, with over 20 Irish sustainability solution providers to explore potential partnerships and opportunities for advancing #sustainability initiatives aimed to reduce energy use. The event included presentations from Brian McGee, Ian O’ Hora, and Martin Corkery, introductions from Teva Pharmaceuticals, SunLife, Garrett Advancing Motion, Sulzer, West Pharmaceutical Services, Bausch + Lomb, Honeywell, WATERS TECHNOLOGIES LTD., and a fireside chat with The Coca-Cola Company, where company leaders shared insights into their significant sustainability investments in Wexford and their impacts. Over 45 private meetings were held between the companies in attendance. Sustainability is a policy imperative and a board-level priority for all investors and companies in #Ireland, and across the EU. Already, 70% of IDA’s 100 largest clients have made net-zero pledges and 15 of the 40 largest IDA client companies are achieving 'A' ratings on sustainability. #InvestInIreland #InvestInExtraordinary
