🏆2024 Graduate Student Merit Award (GSMA) winner spotlight: Congratulations to Matthew Quejada of Pratt Institute! With backgrounds in engineering and design, Matthew often looks for ways to make connections between analytical and creative spaces. It incorporates mindful movement with weighted sand, allowing users to manipulate time through poses that emphasize both physical awareness and mental engagement. ⭐Quell: A handheld device designed to help individuals manage chronic pain through soft vibrations and pain logging, providing comfort during pain episodes while capturing data for better communication with healthcare providers. ⭐Ultium Lift: An electric bike charging station concept for the suburban garage that integrates a soft tire clamp, lift mechanism, and charging compartment, encouraging lower-impact transit choices while seamlessly fitting into the "garage of the future."

🏆 #IDSAIDEA 2024 winner spotlight: Lancome HAPTA, designed by Branch Creative for L'Oréal Groupe, received a Gold International Design Excellence Award (IDEA) in the Lifestyle & Accessories category. An estimated 50 million people globally live with limited fine motor skills. This makes daily gestures like applying makeup challenging. HAPTA is a handheld, ultra-precise smart makeup applicator for users with limited hand and arm mobility, offering them the ability to steadily apply lipstick at home. HAPTA utilizes advanced gyroscopic stabilization technology to steady and level implements, allowing people with limited hand and arm mobility to apply makeup confidently and independently. 🏆 #IDSAIDEA 2024 winner spotlight: Yoto Player (3rd Generation), designed by the Pentagram and Yoto design teams, received a Gold International Design Excellence Award (IDEA) in the Children's Products category. Yoto Player is a connected audio player for children that inspires independent learning and play, building kids’ confidence as they grow. Physical cards play content, so unlike smart speakers it has no screens, no microphones, and no ads. Kids explore what inspires them, choosing from a range of hundreds of stories, songs, radio stations, and podcasts.
