The IFF team had a great week at Opportunity Finance Network's 2024 Conference in Los Angeles! With nearly 2,500 of our #CDFI colleagues in attendance, #OFN40 was a fantastic opportunity to discuss challenges, share best practices, and celebrate four decades of growth and impact in the CDFI industry while exploring how best to continue strengthening communities across the country. A special shout out to several members of our team who joined fellow leaders in #communitydevelopment to share their expertise during breakout presentations, including: • IFF Chief of Staff Jose Cerda III, who joined OFN's Sofia Gilkeson, Accion Opportunity Fund's Joshua Miller, and California Coalition for Community Investment CCCI's Rachel Mueller to discuss CDFI advocacy in a dynamic political environment. • President of IFF's Social Impact Accelerator, Tara Townsend, who shared learnings about creating and using theories of change to support more equitable outcomes for clients and communities alongside Nonprofit Finance Fund's Jina Paik, ICA Fund's Dianna Tremblay, and Partners for the Common Good's Carla Mannings. • IFF Director of Lending for Northern Illinois and Northwest Indiana Brett Mueller, who shared successes and lessons learned about expanding the capacity of Federally Qualified Health Centers with Capital Link's Becky Regan, Primary Care Development Corporation (PCDC)'s William O'Brien, Capital Impact Partners' Candace Robinson, and Low Income Investment Fund's Cigdem Chelsi Cicekoglu. We're already looking forward to next year's conference! #CDFIsInvest #CapitalForGood #CapitalMeetsPurpose #CommunityFinance

"We came into Detroit, which was a crowded CDFI ecosystem, but we had a real strong belief in both the way we work, and the kinds of products and services we knew we could bring to Detroit. We thought there was a place for us there as a complement to a lot of the existing resources," says Kirby Burkholder. IFF was recently featured in a Michigan's Second Wave story that highlighted IFF's first loan in the state to Detroit Achievement Academy and our most recent development project, the McClellan Early Childhood Center.
