About us

iGEM educates the workforce and future leaders of the Synthetic Biology industry. The iGEM Foundation is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of synthetic biology, education and competition, and the development of an open, collaborative, and cooperative community. iGEM's flagship event is the Grand Jamboree, held annually in Paris. This is the culminating event of all our programs, bringing together our global members of the iGEM Competition, iGEM Startups, iGEM Responsibility, iGEM Community, iGEM Technology, and iGEM Leagues. The Grand Jamboree brings together researchers, industry reps, startup founders, investors, journalists, experts in governance and policy, and the general public to chart the future of synthetic biology. Witness the future and interact with tomorrow's leaders of synthetic biology!
