“We need more vertically aligned linear programming. More B2B marketing, and less B2C advertising. That’s what we want. That’s how to build a larger community that allows TV networks to net out their audience(s) respectively.” And you can quote me on it. 😉, Vinnie Potestivo

Lot’s of people asking what the future of traditional television will look like. While I can’t predict the future, I sure know how we can make it: More marketing, less advertising. More B2B, less B2C. 👉 TV will begin to minimize ad disruption in their media to create a better experience of content consumption. 👉 TV networks will partner and activate new audience touch points with their previous advertisers; IRL and beyond. 👉 TV will develop less content internally and shift to licensing 3rd party funded media. 👉 TV networks will launch content directories in order to better support the lifestyle goals of their audience as well as podcast networks that play to the nostalgia of their content catalogue. I worked in television at a point in time where they said video killed the radio star. Well, my friends, advertising killed the video star. Advertising is currently the driving force behind most TV networks, creatively and financially. We can’t blame it on the rise of subscription models, creative congestion, the amount of screens that exist today, the amount of more inclusive and diverse programming, and certainly not due to diminishing audience attention span. When networks earn our trust, we show up: in person, on screen, and on-demand. (There are a few networks who I believe are doing this well. Maybe I’ll name them down in the comments.) 📍 We need more vertically aligned linear programming. More B2B marketing, and less B2C advertising. That’s what we want. That’s how to build a larger community that allows TV networks to net out their audience(s) respectively. #media #opportunity #marketing #b2b PS: #linkedVin 👈 connect with me and follow to join in on more conversations of impact. Early in my career I met a young comedy icon who would go on to redefine comedy, culture, and creativity on television forever. Nick Cannon’s "Wild 'N Out" wasn't just a show; it was a movement. Here's a glance at our timeline: 🌟 Wild 'N Out Timeline: 2004: The concept is born after MTV's initial pass. Nick Cannon, leveraging his and Christina Milian's momentum from the hit film Love Don't Cost a Thing, finances his own sizzle tape, setting the stage for what would become "Wild 'N Out.” Shout out to Drew Tappon, who called me in to his office to reassure the correct placement of the infamous apostrophe in the now global brand! 2005: The inaugural season launches, featuring talents like comedy veteran Katt Williams and comedy-freshman Mikey Day, thanks to the casting genius of Blythe Asher. The show quickly establishes itself as a crucible of comedy and culture. 2007: I transitioned from MTV, as the network began focusing more on reality programming. Despite minimal support, "Wild 'N Out" continued to thrive on community and cultural resonance, but not on air and was eventually cancelled. 2012: Due to the success of viral clips on social media, Season 5 of "Wild 'N Out” is renewed and premiers on MTV2. It goes on to not only find new footing and quickly soars to become the #1 show on the network, marking a pivotal moment in its history. 2024: "Wild 'N Out" wins NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Reality Programming, a testament to its impact and the community's embrace. Congrats Annie Gillies, Nile Evans, Steve Paley, Amy Starr Chinnery, Paul Ricci and the whole WNO team (past and present) who have contributed to the tremendous success of this series. I have be honest, I remember the day the show was green light and the call we made to let Nick Cannon and his team know we were moving forward... I never imagined it would go on to create 21 FREAKING SEASONS OF COMEDY, CULTURE, COMMUNITY & CREATIVE JOBS for generations! Here's to 21+ more! 🔑 Humor has always been our key to unlocking meaningful conversations. Here's to the power of laughter, the strength of community, and the endless possibilities when we dare to dream big. #comedy #culture #community #naacp I'm curious, as we continue to grow and inspire, how do you use humor to propel your goals, values, and the crucial conversations our world needs? I’m noticing a powerful trend in therapy for humans and horses alike. The equine therapy industry is rapidly expanding into sessions where horses are now invited to interact and engage on their own accord. I first spotted this trend 25 years ago at the Miraval Resorts & Spas with Wyatt Webb. I was blown away at the potential this breakthrough approach would have on our industry, and am happy to see this method being more widely adopted by my peers and colleagues today. As the former director of a therapeutic riding center, I knew our horses were great physical and occupational therapists trained to help individuals with disabilities strengthen their bodies and minds. However, they were not yet seen as the natural facilitators we’ve come to know and trust them to be. Working with a horse who was free to engage with me at his own will, opened a new world full of relationships and possibilities that inspired Mindful Connections® my mindful communication and problem-solving approach that has directed my life in supporting horses worldwide. I will also never forget the PATH Intl. Conference - talking in front of a ballroom filled with hundreds of elite professionals - directors of therapeutic riding programs, instructors, and volunteer coordinators…  I asked them to close their eyes and join me in experiencing the world through the eyes of therapy horses. After the talk, the audience lined up to share their vision with me. Here’s what we shared:  • Horses could and should have a voice of their own.  • Horses were not meant to be vehicles/tools for human benefit. • Horses, as sentient beings, need to be seen as partners and collaborators. Kleenex, please. We all felt seen and heard and clearly took the mission out into the world that day. We have changed the industry forever, and more and more of my former students and esteemed colleagues are stepping out of the confines of using lead ropes and fenced-in spaces when engaging with horses. Inviting horses to observe and interact with humans at liberty is the most significant gift we can offer both the horse and the client. 🐴 - Carrie O’Neill is a certified equine facilitator who offers self-inquiry opportunities alongside her horses at her farm in CT.  🐴 - Natacha Streiff is a licensed equine facilitator and Equine Gestaltist™.  🐴 - Kathleen Lowe, a Mindful Outdoor Guide, believes that when we immerse our souls in the healing presence of horses, we allow their tranquil energy to guide us toward inner peace and clarity. #horsetherapy #animal #coach When we allow the interaction between horse and human to unfold without defining it, we demonstrate respect for the horse's wisdom. Have you ever experienced this yourself? How can the evolution of equine therapy impact our lives for the better? What mindful practices with your horses have you established? Share your comments and thoughts below so we can continue to grow this message and the impact it will have.
