On Monday, July 1st, the WTS Greater Chicago Chapter hosted “Lessons in Leadership: From the Illinois General Assembly and Beyond.” The panel included Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant, Ed.D. (State Senator (49th District), 2013-2020) and Tollway Board Director Karen Mcconnaughay (State Senator (33rd District), 2013-2018; Kane County Board Chair, 2004-2012) and was moderated by Julie Hamos (State Representative (18th District), 1999-2010). Our speakers shared more about how their experience in the General Assembly informed how they approach transportation decision making in their current leadership roles, and shared more about their experience negotiating, building consensus, and advancing regional transportation priorities. Thank you to all who joined us for this discussion

We’re giving them a new look that includes a high-visibility, fluorescent-green paint job and new features to more safely serve our customers and better protect our drivers. The trucks, supported by GEICO #GEICOSafetyPatrol, also are being outfitted with new lighting and a plow-like blade so they can more easily clear debris from our roads.
