Dan Ozminkowski presented today at USITT, “Navigating Lighting Color Metrics”. We planned a TM-30 demo with 4 different fixtures, anticipating subtlety in white light, and navigating spec sheets. I was so sorry to miss my co-presenting role (on medical leave) as we planned, but good educators can pivot, and Dan did…and I’m impressed. Huge thanks to Gigahertz Optik GmbH (Dante Nava and Jim L.) for the meter loan! And Aaron Krohn for coordination efforts in advance. Illuminating Engineering Society USITT #metrics #color #lighting

For International Women's Day, we would also like to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the first woman president of the IES, Rita Harrold. She originally became an associate member of IES in 1967 and a member in 1971. She received the Distinguished Service Award in 1979 and was elected a Fellow in 1981, before becoming the Society's 81st President in 1985. Take a listen to Daniel Blitzer's 2018 interview of Rita, part of the "Trailblazers & Icons" series. https://lnkd.in/g9Y3Egxs #InternationalWomensDay #WomenInLighting
