FACILITATE is a project built on a patient-centered, data-driven, technological platform.
About us
FACILITATE is a 4-year project launched by the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) which primary aim is to enable clinical trial participants to access and make use of their personal health data gathered during studies, to allow a better shared medical decision-making with the health professionals involved in their care and to create a process that allows data to be re-used also in future research.

📢 We continue our appointment with the Facilitate Glossary, today we discover the word: 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 (𝐈𝐇𝐈)- 🔵The Innovative Health Initiative (#IHI) builds on the successes of the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI). It is a European public-private partnership dedicated to promoting health research and innovation, but operates in a wider range of areas, with new partners and an updated governance structure. The IMI1 and IMI2 programmes have resulted in almost 200 projects covering a wide range of disease areas and addressing challenges in all areas of medical research and drug development. The IMI projects have yielded impressive results that amply demonstrate the value of a PPP that brings together all stakeholders: universities, large and small companies, patients, regulators, and others. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐚 🔵 Each year, approximately 3,000 clinical trials are authorized in Europe, generating billions of data points. Unfortunately, strict privacy laws often silo this data, limiting its reuse and slowing potential advancements in patient care and research. FACILITATE aims to change that by: ✔ Enabling patients and clinicians to access clinical trial data, optimizing decision-making and avoiding redundant procedures. ✔ Reusing clinical research data to benefit future research, making Europe more competitive in clinical trials. Together, universities, clinicians, researchers, patient associations, pharmaceutical companies, and regulators are setting up FACILITATE to make a difference. 📢 We continue our appointment with the Facilitate Glossary, today we discover the word: 𝐄𝐅𝐏𝐈𝐀 🔵The European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA - European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations) is a Brussels-based trade association founded in 1978 representing the biopharmaceutical industry operating in Europe. The pharmaceutical industry’s key contribution to medical progress is to transform fundamental research into innovative treatments that are widely available and accessible to patients, with the aim of helping people live longer and be healthier. However, huge challenges remain in many disease areas such as Alzheimer’s, multiple sclerosis, many cancers, and orphan diseases. 👉Check it out here: FACILITATE Glossary https://lnkd.in/dyBJgG7j #Clinicaltrial #Clinicaltrialdata #Clinicaltrialdatasharing #Reuseofclinicaltrialdata #Clinicaltrialglossary #IHI
