DID YOU KNOW In Greater Cincinnati, 1 in 5 people face food insecurity. The ratio is even higher in Avondale and Price Hill, 2 of the 3 neighborhoods ranking highest in childhood poverty and food insecurity. Our next finalist, Last Mile Food Rescue, Inc. is working to change that with their “Last Mile Mobile Market” program to distribute free, unused fresh, high-quality food to local communities with limited access to healthy options– expanding the current program in Avondale and replicating this successful model in Price Hill. Celebrate Last Mile Food Rescue's impact, along with all 7 of our 2024 Finalists on Sept. 19 at the Annual Awards Celebration. Register by Sept. 12: https://buff.ly/4cAVnF6

DID YOU KNOW 4 in 10 households do not have enough savings to cover a $400 emergency? As you might expect, the barriers to ANY savings at all are higher for those of lower income. The next finalist, Cornerstone Renter Equity, is working to change that with its “Renter Equity Club” in the Over-the-Rhine community, helping individuals and families increase their financial literacy and long-term savings. Early Registration for The Annual Awards Celebration Closes September 3. Get your tickets now to celebrate this year's finalists! https://buff.ly/4cAVnF6

DID YOU KNOW In 2023 approximately 2,700 children in Hamilton County were in foster care custody, with 945 entering custody in that year alone? The problem is especially acute for a third of foster children and youth who experience more than 2 placements each year, meaning their living arrangements change at least 3 times a year. 2024 Grant Finalist, CityLink Center, is seeking to add a second Care Coordinator to the "Every Mother's Advocate" team, who will support and guide up to 75 volunteer Advocates as they provide one-on-one, ongoing support to empower at-risk moms to increase their resilience, overcome risk factors, and achieve stability for their children, preventing approximately 150 children from being separated from their mothers and entering the foster care system. Join the women of Impact on September 19 as we award four $100,000 grants! https://buff.ly/4cAVnF6

DID YOU KNOW Individuals with disabilities are twice as likely to be physically inactive, at 43%, compared to those without a disability, at 23%? This inequality increases sharply as the number of impairments a person has increases, with 51% of people with 3 or more impairments being inactive, and subsequently in poor health. 2024 Grant Finalist, The Bridge Adaptive Sports & Recreation is working to remove barriers for the disability community to independently explore and exercise in nature by purchasing a fleet of adaptive bikes, improving accessibility of park trails across the Tri-State, and creating regular mountain biking opportunities. Get your tickets to celebrate all of our grant finalists at the Annual Awards Celebration on September 19. https://buff.ly/4cAVnF6
