About us

Impact 100 Jersey Coast is a women’s collective giving circle that funds high-impact grants strengthening local nonprofits in Monmouth County, NJ. Founded in 2015 based on the national Impact 100 model, the group pools donations to transform lives. Why Impact 100 Jersey Coast? The founders recognized an unmet need in Monmouth County for a platform that empowered women to leverage their charitable giving. This initiative aimed to address the needs of underserved populations, while also providing a space for women to engage, learn, and influence local charities. It's a powerful, efficient, and collaborative approach to philanthropy. How Does it Work ? Each member contributes $1,100 annually. By combining funds, these individual gifts become six-figure grants for vetted community organizations. After reviewing grant applications, every member has an equal vote on awarding grants targeting unmet needs. Focus areas include food, housing, mental health, domestic violence and literacy. Members also learn more about regional nonprofits through site visits and speaker series. The collective structure enables women to achieve deeper community impact together. This model not only amplifies the impact of individual contributions but also fosters a sense of shared purpose. Impact we have made So far, Impact 100 Jersey coast has granted more than $2.8 million to 36 nonprofit organizations. In Monmouth County, the charity opportunities are vast and varied. The nonprofit focuses on project-based grants that promise high-impact results addressing systemic inequities and disparities. With growing membership yet significant hardship still confronting many, Impact 100 Jersey Coast stays committed to realizing lasting quality of life improvements. 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲: 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗝𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀' 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝘀𝗯𝘂𝗿𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸, 𝗡𝗝. In an inspiring initiative led by Food for Thought by the Sea, a group of 11 teenagers from Asbury Park gathered at the Boys & Girls Club to embark on a journey of financial literacy. This program, funded by a generous $100,000 grant from Impact 100 Jersey Coast members, is more than just a classroom lesson—it's a game-changer for these young individuals and their community. 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗶𝘀𝗱𝗼𝗺 With summer jobs and first paychecks on the horizon, these teenagers are learning essential skills that many adults still grapple with. They are discovering the importance of financial discipline—how to open a bank account, save diligently, and earn interest. As Nabee Griffin, an 18-year-old Neptune High School student, aptly put it, “There’s a lot of things that come around. Stuff you may look at now, but you really can’t get it because of my other responsibilities and other things you have to handle yourself.” 𝗔 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 This financial literacy program is just one facet of the broader workforce training initiative created by Food for Thought by the Sea, founded by restaurateur Marilyn Schlossbach. Originally focusing on culinary job pathways, the program now includes gardening, surfing, and essential financial education, thanks to Impact 100’s funding. 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 The importance of financial literacy cannot be overstated. Studies show that fewer than 30% of Americans can correctly answer basic financial questions. By addressing this gap early, programs like this one are setting up the next generation for success. They are teaching teens how to avoid financial pitfalls, save for emergencies, and build a stable future. 𝗔 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗨𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗱 Thanks to Impact 100 Jersey Coast members, these young individuals are gaining critical life skills that will serve them well beyond their teenage years. This initiative is a shining example of how targeted philanthropy can make a tangible difference in communities, fostering a generation that is financially savvy, confident, and ready to take on the world. Kudos to Impact 100 Jersey Coast, Food for Thought by the Sea, and all the partners involved in making this program a reality. Your efforts are planting the seeds for a brighter, more financially literate future in Asbury Park. 𝗵𝘁𝘁𝗽𝘀://𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁𝟭𝟬𝟬𝗷𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘆𝗰𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁.𝗼𝗿𝗴/ #FinancialLiteracy #YouthEmpowerment #CommunityImpact #Impact100jerseycoast #Philanthropy #Education #FinancialEducation

  • Creative Expressions Arts & Wellness Program by Monmouth Arts We are excited to share with you the incredible impact of the Creative Expressions Arts & Wellness Program by Monmouth Arts, funded by a $107,500 grant from Impact 100 Jersey Coast. This program, is providing over 1800 children with a safe and constructive way to communicate their emotions, thoughts, and experiences through painting, drawing, music, and dance. The program's "Unzip Your Mind" project is a powerful example of its transformative power. Each child receives a blank canvas and a colored zipper, deciding whether they want their zipper open or closed on the canvas. They can then draw or paint anything they'd like to let go of, using the zipper imagery to "unzip" thoughts and emotions. The results? Teachers build relationships with the children, identifying those who could benefit from additional mental health services. The most recent data collected from the Asbury Park Boys & Girls Club participants showed 100% program satisfaction. But the impact doesn't stop there. Inspired by the success of the Creative Expressions program, Monmouth Arts has launched a new initiative, the Creative Aging Campaign, bringing the transformative power of the arts to the senior community. Impact 100 Jersey Coast is actively supporting projects, such as the Creative Expressions Arts & Wellness Program, in Monmouth County, NJ, to generate significant social and economic change through collective grantmaking. If you are a woman living in Monmouth County, NJ, and eager to drive meaningful change, consider joining Impact 100 Jersey Coast. Grantee Spotlight from Impact 100 Jersey Coast: We are thrilled to share about Parker Family Health Center in Red Bank, NJ which received a $107,500 grant from Impact 100 Jersey Coast back in 2021. The clinic, which provides free healthcare services to uninsured Monmouth County residents, was bursting at the seams and in dire need of expansion and renovation. The grant from Impact 100 Jersey Coast was one of the first major commitments Parker received, and it had a huge ripple effect! Today, Parker has nearly reached its campaign goal of $5 million, and construction on the new addition is well underway. The second floor and roof are already completed, and renovations in the existing facility are proceeding as planned. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by Spring 2024. The expansion will add much-needed exam rooms, space for blood-drawing and vaccinations, and private spaces for counseling, intakes, and telehealth. This increased caregiving capacity will allow Parker to better meet the demand for services, which has increased by about 25 percent since 2021. Suzy Dyer, Executive Director of Parker Family Health Clinic, expressed her gratitude to Impact 100 Jersey Coast, saying, “The Impact grant was so important in the early stages of our capital campaign. You believed in Parker – our leadership and our vision – and kick-started our campaign! We will always be grateful for the investment Impact 100 made in us and our ability to meet the needs of the medically underserved today and in the future.” Do you also want to be part of a community that supports organizations like Parker Family Health Clinic, which provides essential healthcare services to those who need them most. Let’s keep supporting and uplifting each other to create a healthier and more compassionate society!
