I hosted a fun music-infused poetry writing workshop at the Cook County Department of Public Health's all staff retreat last week.💡📝🎤 Nearly 180 CCDPH staff members unleashed their creativity, created connection + community through a reflective writing exercise, an interactive paper ball tossing activity, and a gamified community poem writing session that ended with an inspiring (and humorous 🤣) poetry slam to celebrate the experience. 🎉 Many participants told me they were nervous and not looking forward to the session. After the session, they thanked me and said it was a fun, meaningful experience that inspired them to discover more about themselves in a safe way. ☮️ Highlights from the poetry workshop & slam coming soon!
