Launching our strategic partnership with Competitive Capabilities International (CCi) at their customer summit in Belgium, Chris Hagler delivered a keynote on the synergy between operational excellence and sustainability outcomes. She highlighted our joint perspective on sustainability’s role in operations: 1.     It’s just good business 2.     Done right, sustainability is a value creator, not a cost center 3.     Sustainability should be integrated into business operations 4.     To make real change, sustainability needs to stick Chris Hagler and McKenna Barney are in Ghent, Belgium all week connecting with CCi customers and partners to hear about the challenges and successes experienced transforming corporate-level strategies into site-led action.

To make real change, sustainability needs to stick.
Great and timely insight from Chris Hagler, Co-Founder and CEO of Impact Pathways during her keynote address on driving sustainable outcomes through operational excellence. Chris spoke about how sustainability initiatives can boost operational excellence; the difference between long-term vs. short-term sustainability approaches; and how when done right, sustainability is a value creator, not a cost center.
She also spoke about Impact Pathways at CCi – the new partnership between Impact Pathways and CCi designed to transform corporate sustainability strategy into site-led action.

🌍 The Power of State and Local Voting: A Critical Path to Climate Action 🌍 As we approach another election season, it's easy to get swept up in the buzz surrounding the presidential race. But we can’t forget the outsized impact that state and local elections have on critical issues like #climate change and #biodiversity closer to home. At Impact Pathways, we recognize the importance of getting out to #vote and making your voice heard on every level. ▶ Why vote locally? Local and state elections are a critical channel for communities to shape climate outcomes. In 2017, just 1% of Americans lived in states with goals of reaching 100% renewable energy. Today, that number has climbed to 40%. Who is responsible for these policies? In short, the candidates at the bottom of the ballot – local and state-level offices who drive much of the nitty-gritty policymaking in the US. Yet according to the US Vote Foundation, in a typical election year, only 50% of eligible voters actually vote, and a third or more of those voters don’t fill out the entire ballot, leaving local and state elections and ballot initiatives up to a small minority. ▶ What can you do? Learn about how voting locally can affect the issues that matter to you through resources like Ballotpedia and local news platforms, and vote to make your voice heard. Here are some issues we’re watching in our communities: 🍑 Georgia: Earlier this year, the Georgia state legislature ended its 2023-2024 session with no action to protect the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge from a planned mining project, threatening critical wildlife habitat with disturbances and pollution despite widespread opposition from 74% of voters according to a Southern Environmental Law Center poll. There are 236 state legislative seats up for election this year in Georgia – these lawmakers may help decide the fate of the Okefenokee Refuge and other important environmental issues. 🌊 California: Prop 4 would allow the state to issue $10bn in bonds to help fund state and local parks, conservation projects, energy projects, water infrastructure and flood protection projects. 40% of bond revenue would be used to fund activities that benefit lower-income communities or communities affected by environmental changes or disasters. Prop 4 will appear on the ballot for California voters in November 2024. 🦋 Minnesota: Amendment 1 is a ballot measure that would increase the amount of Minnesota State Lottery funds available for environment projects and expand access to funds for smaller nonprofits, Tribes and BIPOC-led organizations. Amendment 1 will appear on the ballot for Minnesota voters in November 2024. #Elections2024 #Downballot #ClimateAction #EnvironmentalPolicy #SustainableFuture #Sustainability #SustainableImpact

🌱 Voting for the planet: make your voice heard! 🌱 At Impact Pathways, we’re passionate about harnessing the power of collective action to accelerate the transition to a regenerative future. Climate is front and center on many ballots as more than 40 countries, home to about half the world’s population, will hold elections in 2024. Elected leaders play a critical role in shaping our future as we near pivotal climate targets for the end of the decade: tripling the world’s renewable energy capacity, ending deforestation and significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions, among others. As we approach elections in the US and abroad, it's crucial to remember that voting is one of the most impactful ways to drive positive, lasting change in your community. If you’re eligible to vote in the US, here are some resources to help you get started: ▶ Register to vote: Visit Vote.org to check registration deadlines (varies by state; up to 30 days prior to election day), confirm your registration status and find out how to register if you haven’t already. ▶Find your polling place: Use Vote.org's Polling Place Locator to find out where you can cast your ballot. ▶Learn about the issues: Get informed about environmental and social measures on your ballot at Ballotpedia. Every vote counts! Together, we can drive meaningful change to protect our planet. #VoteForClimate #Sustainability #ClimateAction #GetOutAndVote #YourVoteMatters #SustainableImpact

📈 The IPO market is beginning to come back and we are curious to see how ESG is integrated. So, the team at Impact Pathways alongside Independence Point Advisors analyzed fifteen 2024 IPO prospectus filings through H1 2024 for the tech, consumer & retail, healthcare, and insurance sectors to identify ESG disclosures and assess the state of ESG integration in IPOs.   🔎 Companies vary in the extent of their disclosures, but they all include ESG topics in their risk factors disclosures at minimum. With a growing body of ESG disclosure regulations, ESG is here to stay, and whether your company’s goal is to just “pass go” or to fully maximize value from ESG, an intentional approach is critical to position you for long-term success as expectations from investors, regulators, ratings agencies, employees, customers, and society at-large continue to evolve.   📑 Reach out to info@impactpathways.com if you are interested in reading the full report with findings broken out by sector, a case study, our takeaways and recommendations for companies considering a future IPO!   #IPO #ESG #ImpactPathways #Finance #BusinessGrowth Zachary Gitomer
